Yes we have a lifelike plastic ‘stirling pine’ version we bought last year with a sparkly light dusting of ‘snow.’ Joke is though … we never ever have snow at Christmas … SE Australia.

Seem to buy a little something new each year, so paid a visit to the Santa Shop last week. Sometimes we rescue son’s old (battery powered) train set to tizzy and tinsel up to look Christmassy too. (No reason to buy an expensive set … a cheap plastic pre-schooler’s set will do just fine).

When I was young parents would usually buy a fresh hewn tree that would drop needles for weeks. The smell of pine trees always reminds me of those Christmases. Kind of sad really. 🎄

I recall reading a card years ago that said something like “Strange species these humans. They kill a living tree, take it inside their homes, decorate and sing songs to it.”
