RE: How does your organisation promote British Sign Language courses?
As a social worker, I often work with individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing and rely on British Sign Language (BSL) as their primary form of communication. In order to better serve my clients, I am looking for ways to promote BSL in my community.
At our organization, British Sign Language courses are highly promoted to both our staff and the general public. We offer BSL courses for all levels, from beginners to advanced speakers, as well as British Deaf language courses. Our staff members are encouraged to take these courses in order to improve communication with deaf customers and colleagues. We also advertise our BSL courses through social media, email newsletters, and word of mouth. It is important for us to promote British Sign Language because it helps break down barriers for deaf individuals and allows for equal communication opportunities. It is a skill that can benefit not just the deaf community but anyone who wants to learn about deaf culture and improve their communication skills. Additionally, promoting British Sign Language demonstrates our commitment to diversity and inclusion within our organization.
