RE: What is an optimal humidity for wine basement ?

I’m considering which hygrometer to buy for patrolling my wine basement temperature and humidity.  According to what I was reading an optimal humidity is about 30-40 %, I’m not sure about its accuracy so it would be cool if you can clarify this too.

An optimal humidity for wine basement is between 55 and 60 percent. If the humidity is too low, the wine will become dry and brittle. If the humidity is too high, the wine will spoil. The ideal temperature for a wine cellar is between 50 and 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
