My friends Lenovo worth $750 died and broken at hinges after like 1.5 years of using for masters degree running Matlab.

Battery life: battery life macs battery life by far compared to any other with similar type and range.

I never carried that charger which weighs around 1lb or more in my backpack. That is a lot of weight if you do a lot of walking around campus for different work.

No antivirus needed: you just have to be careful about what sites you visit and how can they attack a system or browser like pushing etc. just common sense.

However, apple devices with chords that are prone to cuts and damage.
