The book report questions placed on writology and remains unanswered in most cases is what the actual benefits of the Internet have with particular focus on education sector. It is therefore imperative that further exploratory investigation is carried out to assess the suitability and benefits accrued from the use of the Internet in education sector.

The Internet is a computer application that has an important linkage role in information and communication technology. It is the connecting wire of different websites across the world that makes it easy to access anything posted anywhere in the world. The Internet is one of the key pillars of the concept of globalization where there is faster and cheaper transfer of information. It is used in almost all sectors of any economy in the swift exchange and access to information. Moreover, it has fuelled faster economic expansion in many economies due to efficient communication and co-ordination of activities it offers. In the education sector, there is an increasing need of a paradigm shift from analogue reading materials to digital sources of information. Students can get many advantages from the Internet as a mode of learning. In addition to that, instructors and educational institutional administrators encourage using Internet technology to take up their various official duties. The Internet is beneficial to the user and the provider alike.

The world is in the period of exponential technological advancement and it uses the Internet to overtake the existing large social, economic and political challenges that and emerging. This urgency of solving various problems in the world needs to be reflected in education system since this is the sector that primarily produces human capital to curb various problems in the society. It has therefore been established that the Internet is one of the digital sources of information that is convenient and less costly hence improving efficiency for learners and instructors. In this generation of Internet technology, lecturers, tutors and instructors do not need to carry bundles of books when discharging their duty. Instead, they simply download such materials into their laptops, iPads and other portable gadgets with great convenience to class. This goes a long way in reducing stress of carrying analogue teaching and additional materials to class. Once the tutors get into a classroom, the necessary learning materials are easily accessed.

The increasing number of learners’ population across the globe puts a great amount of workload on teaching staff, and the introduction of the Internet as a place for posting assignments is working in improving working condition of the global teaching fraternity. The modern world needs a new approach in dealing with real life challenges, and this calls for genuine ability in an individual to perform. In this respect, the adoption of the Internet is coupled with the introduction of computer application software that can detect academic malpractices like plagiarism and others that are likely to jeopardize the quality of manpower produced by leaning institutions. With the analogue system, most of the hard copy research works presented by students had many academic flaws but could not be detected, and this has been costly to the job market.

The Internet has been of a great benefit to students. The increasing demand of technological knowledge has put computer literacy at the position of a necessity. This explains why there is a worldwide campaign to promote computer literacy to facilitate implementation of a shift in traditional production to digital economy. Students can now access a wide range of reading materials from various academic websites at a cheaper cost compared to physical acquisition of all the books. This mode is efficient, convenient and informative. The Internet exposes students to a number of learning materials that makes them think beyond the confines of their classwork. This has made the current generation of learners gain much exposure in terms of the current issues and develop psychologically from younger age on how to be proactive.

When getting assignments, it is much more convenient for students to download them from the Internet after their tutors have posted them online. Submission is also cheaper since it is always online, which means that it can be done from anywhere in the world as opposed to the use of hard copy that requires physical presentation. The Internet provides easier learning conditions due to the entertainment that can also be accessed for relaxation as one goes through an educational assignment. The education sector administrators are not left out in the use of the Internet to pass relevant information to various agencies and stakeholders.

In conclusion, if resources are well allocated to the education sector, then more is bound to be gained from the Internet. Nevertheless, the Internet content is raising concern in the society due to the negative moral influence it is exposing the users and particularly learners to. In this regard, a vast amount of further remedial measures, e.g. censorship of the Internet needs to be created by the government and the society to optimize the unexploited benefits of the Internet to the learners. Though learning through the internet seems a much easier way to get knowledge, we still should remember the oldest source is the paper book. As all the information that is now available online is still placed in the books. Besides, online resources are not reliable as we can’t reach them without internet connection. Of course, there are pros and cons in using online courses or books in the library. Everyone chooses the most convenient and suitable way for the self. All I want to say is that we should know how to use both internet learning and learning through books to be ready for any situation in life.
