What is the most intuitive way to teach stoichiometry step by step?
I’m helping a student who keeps getting lost in stoichiometry problems
(mass → moles → limiting reagent → yield).
They can follow formulas mechanically, but they don’t really understand
why each step works.
What’s the clearest way you explain this step by step so it actually clicks?
If possible, I’d love to hear:
– how you decide what to convert first
– how you reliably identify the limiting reagent
– common mistakes beginners make
A short worked example would be very helpful.
