Why do we have a tendency to eat unhealthily all of the time?
Food is something that contains nutrition…. energy for activity, growth, and all bodily processes such as breathing, digesting food, and staying warm; materials for the body’s growth and repair, as well as keeping the immune system healthy.
Poor eating habits include under- or over-eating, not having enough of the healthy foods we need each day, or consuming too many types of food and drink, which are low in fiber or high in fat, salt, or sugar.
These unhealthy eating habits can affect our nutrient intake, including energy, protein, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals as well as fiber and fluid.
Sleep, hunger, and time deficiencies are the main reasons why people crave unhealthy foods. A sleep deficiency can affect your energy levels, causing you to crave sugar! When you do not consume enough protein and/or fat, your body cannot function properly.
Caffeine and sugar are two of the most addictive ingredients. This is one of the reasons why you can’t stop eating unhealthy foods. There is also a visual appeal to junk food that contributes to its popularity. Consumers (especially children) are attracted to junk food because manufacturers use vibrant and saturated colors.
